Les prépositions sont suivies d'un nom ou d'un groupe nominal :                                        

  • 'He was kept in after school due to/owing to his bad behaviour.'
  • = He was kept in after school on account of/because of/for his bad behaviour.
  • = He was kept in for behaving badly.(for+VING)

  • 'Due to/owing to a broken leg,  he had to stay home.  
  • = 'He had to stay home  because of/on account of a broken leg.'
